After 72 years’ development，child play staffs endeavored to create more than 390 children’s plays with kinds of forms and styles with performances above 19000 and 16,370,000-plus audiences. The theatre has been awarded by nation-level prizes including Wenhua Prize, Golden Lion Prize and Excellent Play of Performance among nation-wide children’s plays.

Recent years, the theatre has annually created 3 to 4 new plays on average, 20-plus plays have been provided and more than 330 performances have been annually on the stage, appealing to 200,000-plus audiences. Besides, the theatre made plays universal, more than 17,000 people have more knowledge of plays every year.

Cross-cultural exchanges and cooperation were the highlight of the theatre that should be mentioned, during the exchanges and cooperation, performances have been staged on places of 10-odd nations and regions, like, Russia, Japan, the United States, German, Australia and Taiwan district of China ,etc.. It held 10 editions of Shanghai International Children’s Theatre Festival which has received splendid performances by professional children’s troupes from 20-odd nations and regions.

Children’s Art Theatre of China Welfare Institute becomes the crucial platform to express culture of Chinese children’s plays; education of good virtue and patriotism for youngsters; education and training causes of the children’s plays.
